I’m banging my head against my desk this morning. I received an email from Air Miles earlier today that they want to welcome me back to shopping online with them by giving me a bonus of 20 points on my next online purchase by September. The thing is, I could have earned Air Miles points with the shopping I had done yesterday, but didn’t because I didn’t tell Air Miles about my plans to spend money yesterday first. Heck, even with a sticky note on my desktop monitor, I can’t remember to visit AirMilesShops.ca before making any purchase online. Writing this blog post won’t make me remember. Luckily, Air Miles can back me up, so I don’t have to remember… just need to take a few minutes to prep your browsers now before making any other purchases online in the future.
Do you shop online often?
If you haven’t checked their online store partners recently, I think you’ll be in for a huge shock for whose wanting to give you points. Heck, some of them you can even double dip (the company’s personal point system and the Air Miles point collection at the same time.)
For instance… Addition Elle.
Yes, they are! Look at this store map!
Check out their A to Z Store Directory
I don’t see Shop.ca on the map above, so this is definitely not the whole list. I’ve shopped at three places on that list in the past couple of weeks and because I didn’t check, I definitely didn’t get any Air Miles for shopping there. *sad panda face*
Starting this morning, this is all gonna change though. Air Miles has a handy toolbar, that will give you a heads up if you land on one of their partner sites. So if you’re checking out Beyond the Rack (like I just did *facepalm*) for a nice pair of shoes, some clothes of a bathroom organizer, you can earn points with your purchase (1 point for every $20.)
I’ve been a member for over a decade and have only redeemed points once (for a set of new house phones.) I like this points system, but it seemed like unless you purchased gas on a regular basis, that you weren’t going to collect much from them.
I’ve now come to realise though that I probably lost at least 300 Air Miles for not shopping with them online this year alone.
I think I might just cry. Also? This promotion so would have been mine yesterday! *pout*

What’s the moral of this story? If you shop online, go download the toolbar stat!
So… how many points have you lost this year so far? 😉
Thanks for the reminder as I also forget to go online and put in the #. I can also get $$ with them for exchanging my points. On my to do list:)
That reminds me, I should re-install it. Thanks!
Wow really? I never knew about this!! I’ll have to install it right away. We always use our Air Miles and I had no idea it was that easy to use when shopping online! How neat! 🙂
Wow! This is something I never knew. Thanks so much for sharing. Going to DL toolbar now!
That is a great idea. I never knew that there was a tool bar like that. I wonder if my airline has it. Or I could get theirs and earn miles to Canada.
