If you read me yesterday, you might remember my saying to keep an eye out for certain companies that are no doubt aiming for the top of the tech list?
There’s a new leak on an upcoming HTC smartphone that will encase a 1.5GHz quad-core Nvidia Tegra 3 chipset. What does this mean in layman’s terms? It’ll be one fast mo-fo. Your phone is Wile E. Coyote and this new HTC Quad-Core Superphone currently titled as the “Edge”, is the Road Runner.
I’ve been battling an I’m-gonna-migraine-you headache all day long, so this post is going to be sweet and simple. I was going to talk about the “On The Curve: The Time Is Now” fashion show coming up next week and it’s sponsors, but I’m thinking of leaving that to tomorrow or Thursday.
When I’m sick, I love just sitting in front of my computer or TV to watch a whole bunch of mindless TV. I love TV. I love being able to just sit and let someone tell me a story, particularly if my brain needs me to rest for a bit.
So, I got a new favourite TV show this fall, WOOT! It doesn’t happen every season, in fact I think last year’s line up of new shows spectacularly failed to entertain me.
The show that caught my eye this fall is Once Upon A Time and the best part is that I can catch up with this show whenever I need a break (and I needed multiple today.)

From the inventive minds of Lost executive producers Adam Horowitz and Edward Kitsis comes a bold new imagining of the world, where fairy tales and the modern-day are about to collide. ~ CTV, Once Upon a Time About Page
I’m REALLY jonesing for a Sci-Fi show similar to Star Trek or Stargate (Robert Carlyle from Stargate Universe just happens to be in this new show, heh.) I’m waiting for one where humans take the aliens out in space instead of aliens bringing it down to our back yard. Not that I hate that type of story line completely… I love Falling Skies (Filmed in Hamilton, Ontario, and totally pwned by Colin Cunningham, heh,) though I’m not sure when we’ll finally get to see Season 2. Will we get a new incarnation of Star Trek that’s not a movie?? I’m pretty sure Stargate is out of the question, unless someone does a reboot 10-15 years down the line. From what I understand, the producers were not too happy with their fan-base at the end of SGU, lol.
So yeah, I’ve been toiling for free TV at CTV, Global, and the History channel online frequently today when thinking was too much to handle.
I did see something funky on my Android phone yesterday that I am looking forward to trying out asap. One of the most recent updates to my smartphone included an overhaul on the Android Market place. This is similar to the iTunes/Apple app store for iPhone/iPad use. In the market I’m able to download a ton of apps to make my smartphone more like a mini computer that has become extremely handy ever since I first turned on my phone.
The really cool new feature though is being able to rent movies for $4.99 for a 48 hour period.
There are a bunch of new and old movies that just might be willing to rent if all else fails. Just off the top of the front page list, I’ve been wanting to see Hoodwinked 2, Bridesmaids, and Faces In The Crows. Woot! I’m saved from ever being bored, lol.
And this just in…. BOOKS! I don’t even need to download Kobo or Kindle apps to my phone to read these. Would it be ironic if I read Steve Jobs on my Samsung Galaxy Android smartphone?
And the android market isn’t only for smartphones, with the new list of tablets available with the Android OS, you can watch movies and read books on quality screens.
Well, that’s it for my NaBloPoMo entry for today. I’m off to find something new to watch.
