Happy Friday the 13th! I’ve been reminded of the fact of how lucky today is by stubbing my toe, not once, but thrice. Ow. Enough about oh so sore tootsies though, I’ve got a beauty bag to share with you! Also? Remember the KISS InstaWave I mentioned on my New Year’s Eve Glam post? Well, I managed to take some pics this time to show you just how easy this hair curler really is! Check out my hair skillz, and these fab bits of colour that have become my must haves this month (and particularly for tomorrow night!)
Valentine’s Day Beauty Bag
The cute little handbag came from Target… it *might* still be available on the ever disappearing shelves, but it won’t be for long at 30% off! I had to bring it home the moment I saw it. And if you haven’t noticed yet, I’m trying something new with my DSLR and slideshow, let’s see how this goes…
Ready to have some fun!
Using the KISS Instawave Hair Curler – makes curling your hair a breeze!
One side done, now just the other and back to go.
Curling my hair has never been this easy. I didn’t need a wingman to do the back curls, nor did I worry about burning myself in the process. So easy to do!
Got this neat Fan brush and skin highlighter from Julep a few days ago. My cheeks are sparkly!
Colour within the lines, right? It’s aptly name a “Velvet Stick” as it glides on smoothly.
Lightly smoothing out the blush.
I was given two of these Velvet Sticks to try. The lighter “30 Bronze” shade was used on my cheeks.
And the “40 Red” Velvet Stick from The Body Shop was used on my lips.
Can you see the specks of glitter? Just look for the shiny spots on the mascara stick, lol.
Final bit is adding some awesome colour and design to my nails. Check out Instagram: @AerynLynne to see these pretties on!
Love The Body Shop’s Smoky Poppy line! It could be my absolute favourite (and I’ve been a die-hard Satsuma gal up to now, heh.)
All of the eye colour. My go to for this bag is my much love and well used Covergirl Flamed Out Eyeshadow sticks, along with NYX Natural Pallet
Julep’s Fan Brush (I’m a fan!) and Glow Highlighting Powder

The Body Shop’s Smoky Poppy Collection
I’m in absolute love with this collection, have I mentioned that yet? The Body Shop website uses terms like euphoric and seductive to describe the Smoky Poppy scent… all I know is that the scent is almost calming in nature, and I can’t get enough of it. The bath bombs were relaxing enough to entirely de-stress (though the five year old in me was highly amused by the poppy seeds floating in the milky water.) The body scrub does as you’d think, and left a silky feeling on my skin once rinsed away. Don’t listen to me though, go to The Body Shop and check out this collection for yourself. They have testers available to try everything from their line (except maybe the bath bombs of course.)
Smoky Poppy is available for only a limited time! (affiliate link)
And here’s the nail art on Instagram!
