Game of Thrones Season 7 Holiday Gift Guide

It might be apropos for Torontonians that Game of Thrones Season 7 released on the same day that we truly felt the biting touch of winter for the first time this holiday season.

Winter Is Coming / Winter is HERE, OMG!

So imagine my surprise earlier this week when I come home to a massive box from HBO…

I had no clue what was inside. I could guess, ’cause I knew that GoT was releasing soon, but honestly, the front of the shipping box said it weighed 15 lbs, and I don’t know of a DVD box (or box-set) that weighs that much!

The words I uttered when I pried the shipping tape away and saw this wooden box below can only be described as “OMG, whut the &@*#, omGGGG how cooooollll!”

A Game of Thrones Season 7 Survival Kit!

If you’re not sure what the geek in your life has/doesn’t (we’re frequent collectors, and totes know how difficult we can make gifting things for our loved ones,) you have a really good chance that they don’t have Game of Thrones Season 7 in their Blu-Ray/DVD collection yet.

It released only yesterday, during a time that has many geeks suffering through exams, or newly winter weather traffic.  So the odds are in your favour here.

The Oath of the Binge Watchers

Don’t ask Jay how high-pitched my squee was when I saw that the underside lid of this epic Game of Thrones survival kit box was stenciled with the Oath of the Binge Watchers, as if this box couldn’t be more awesome.

The image might be a bit small, so here’s what the oath says:

Night gathers, and now my watch begins. It shall not end until the last episode of the 7th Season. I shall embark on this journey with either my king, my Khaleesi, or my hand, and we shall rule the iron throne that is our couch.

I shall don this faux-fur lined cloak and share it in all its glory. I shall live and die a fan at my post. I am the remote in the darkness. I am the watcher on the couch. I am the warner of spoilers that guards the realm of men. I pledge my honour to the Game of Thrones for this night and all nights to come.
