#ComicBookClub: Signed All-New Hawkeye #1 Giveaway!

You may have noticed a few posts here recently about #ComicBookClub? I’m a big fan of book clubs, but it’s an easy bet that there aren’t many out there devoted to comic books. Or at least, I haven’t found one in my area yet to join. So I’m trying out a way to create a weekly book club here on Geek with Style! My hope is to find new comics to read through shared reviews each week; so if you write reviews of your favourite comics, I would like to encourage you to share the links to those reviews here each week! To celebrate this adventure, I’m finally giving away a copy of All-New Hawkeye #1 that was signed by Jeff Lemire, Ramon Perez, and Ian Herring, back when they all visited the Silver Snail during the comic’s launch.

Hawkeye is definitely one of my favourite characters (now both Clint Barton and Kate Bishop.) I’ve come to the conclusion that any character that wields a bow tends to become an automatic like for me (Robin Hood, Green Arrow, Merida, Bo & Luke Duke… I just can’t bring myself to watch Hunger Games tho!) I can’t help but wonder if this fascination with the bow & arrow has anything to do with being born under the Sagittarius sign at all. I’m not even that interested in astrology, but these symbols/concepts were still readily present growing up, especially in teen mags and jewellery.

If you haven’t yet read All-New Hawkeye at all, it’s truly a fun story that I’m assuming is meant to take place after the Hawkeye/Hawkguy series. I love the art, and this concept of comparing Clint Barton/Hawkeye’s current ordeals to his those of his past is well executed on every page. The current adventure is also pretty crazy as well as entirely terrifying to think about!

So when I found out that there was going to be a book signing for the All-New Hawkeye #1 launch… well, there may or may not have been some gleeful hopping going on. And thanks to that book launch, I have a signed copy of All-New Hawkeye #1 to give to one of you!
