Avengers Infinity War’s Easter Eggs and Things You Might Have Missed That Will Make You Want to Watch It Again

Marvel’s Avengers: Infinity War was released on Blu-Ray DVD earlier this week, and with that in mind, here are some points you might have missed through the first (or third) watch of the movie.

Be aware, if you’re one of the few who have yet to see Avengers: Infinity War, there are A WHOLE BUNCH OF SPOILERS in the post below.

Avengers: Infinity War Easter Eggs and Things You Might Have Missed

1. Steve Rogers phone number was supposed to work so that fans could call it and catch Cap’s voicemail, but that egg never got green lit to move forward.

Check out what else is on the phone though.

I think one of those symbols is an unread text message, and the phone has 100% battery life.

Correct me in the comments if I’m wrong, but this is a burner phone only to be used with Rogers, so they have been keeping in touch?

It must make Stark itch to have to have to tether the rather outdated phone to a wall whenever it needs a charge. Or do you think he gave the flip an upgrade?

2. Knowhere – Did you catch how the Celestial Skull planet was spelled “Knowhere” instead of the phonetic, “Nowhere”? There’s a small pun to the name.

Celestials are this unknown-ish group of extraterrestrial beings that played key roles in the evolution of humans. They were created to protect humans from what I understand.

In comics, Knowhere is a science station for multiple alien species. In the MCU, it’s a mining station and the storage/museum for The Collector’s collectibles.

Either way, people are chilling in the alien’s brain cavity, and while we know nothing about this Celestial, the skull became either a scientific observatory, OR all possible Celestial knowledge was lost thanks to a mining operation.

And, if you choose to mash up bits of Marvel’s comic lore into the Marvel Cinematic Universe?

I can’t reference the Bronze Age comic(s) that explain this, but Celestials are the DNA source of the X-Gene and other Marvel mutations, such as Bruce Banner becoming the Hulk instead of dying from gamma radiation.

Peter Starlord Quill? If you saw Guardians of the Galaxy II, (SPOILER:) you might remember that his father, Ego, called himself a Celestial.

Thanos’ ancestral line can also be traced back to the Celestials; as Titans (Thanos’ race) were once Eternals, and Eternals were once Celestials.

Could you imagine AncestryDNA trying to figure that one out?

So Quill and Thanos could be 3rd cousins a few times removed. And round one of their fight during Infinity Wars happened in the decaying remains of one of their other cousins.

Ew.

3. Bucky Barnes – Winter Soldier or the White Wolf? So, with the repeated use of “White Wolf” for Bucky Barnes during his stay in Wakanda, I felt like I was missing something.

Sure enough, there is a Marvel Character in the Black Panther lore known as White Wolf.

In the comics, the Wolf is T’Challa’s older, adopted brother Hunter, who becomes the leader of the Hatut Zeraze, a brutal secret police (elite assassins).

Still swathed in a baby blanket, Hunter was the first person to immigrate into Wakanda (by means of being the sole survivor of a plane crash.)

From what I’ve read in summaries, he was brought to T’Chaka’s attention soon after the plane crash, and wound up living a secluded life, never accepted as a Wakandan.

12 years later, T’Challa was born.

And surprise, my “most wanted” comics list has just got longer as I want to read all about the conflict between Black Panther and White Wolf.

4. Loki has sass. Go back to the first Avengers movie. One of the best moments was when Loki said, “I have an army,” and Stark’s booyah response was,

You were likely all, “YEEEAH, that’s right Moth-[insert Samuel L Jackson’s favourite expletive here]!”

Loki must have been doubly impressed by Stark’s conviction and Hulk’s might, as many years later he’s exclaiming the same thing to Thanos.

5. Did you see that Arrested Development got a nod in the credits? This is one of those eggs where I had to go back and watch to see after looking online and finding out that the Collector perhaps loved the line, “I’m afraid I blue myself,” so much that he collected jean-shorts-toting Tobias Funke in his Blue Man Group body paint.

6. End Credit – Calling on Captain Marvel, March 2019

I don’t know if there was widespread panic, but I had to calm a few folks at home who thought that this was the end for a number of our favourite superheroes.

Infinity Wars is only a part one, and the end credit scene lead to introducing the next movie coming up.

The next, currently untitled Avengers movie will release two months after Captain Marvel.

They will be tied in some way I’m sure. Not to mention that there is a third MCU movie coming out in 2019 (likely in June/July if it follows the same path as Ant-man movies,) that already spoils a part of the untitled Avengers storyline.

All you have to do is Google 2019 MCU movies to see the spoilery third movie to get a vague idea of Avengers 4 outcome.
