“Don’t Frown, You’ll Get Wrinkles” and Other Advice I Didn’t Listen To

Were you ever told that “sage” advice while growing up? Don’t frown, because your face will wrinkle up in a weird way when you’re older. I have a few issues with my eyesight, including a greater sensitivity to sunlight. I always looked angry/frowny-faced while I sat/played/lived in the sunlight, without any sunglasses to speak of. I was already wearing glasses to see properly, and there weren’t any inexpensive options for me to wear both glasses and shades at the same time. People thought I was quite the angry kid, and it was all because the sun was too bright. And now I’ve got these fine lines right between the eyes from all that squinting.

To be honest, I was banking on the idea that, by the time I was old enough to care about such things, there would be some kind of miraculous beauty technology available to the general public, so I convinced myself not to worry so much.

Now I have to write a thank-you note to Garnier for developing the Ultra-Lift Miracle Sleeping Night Cream (available across Canada, msrp $24.99,) for proving me right! Whew! I did all the wrong things I could possibly do with the skin around my eyes while growing up. If a room was too bright, I’d squint. If I heard a great joke, I’d squint while laughing. My resting face? Mostly squinting, until I trained myself out of that habit. While in university, I would repeatedly rub around my eyelids, with enough force to actually create red spots of nearly broken skin occasionally, either because my contacts got inexplicably dry in the computer labs, or I was just flat out exhausted. I didn’t have much care other than for instant relief, though I did have this small internal nagging voice saying I would pay for this oversight later.

Have you tried Garnier’s Ultra-Lift Miracle Sleeping Night Cream yet? It’s a little jar that could. Immediately, after trying it out for the first time, I saw results the very next morning. Visibly reduced signs of fatigue and wrinkles fine lines, all the while rejuvenating my skin for a healthy glow I haven’t seen in quite some time.

Jay, TheHubs, noticed the scent the first night I tried it out. We both enjoy the soothing Lavender Essential Oil within, which is among 7 active ingredients that make this night cream so effective (other ingredients include: Hyaluronic acid, and LHA.) I enjoy the fact that as much as I love the scent of lavender, especially when I’m trying to rest, my pillow doesn’t smell like the night cream later. No matter how much I might smush my face into my pillow, or sleeping-mask, the cream stays on my skin, creating a nice smooth texture under my eyes while I snore away.

There is also a light-weight Ultra-Lift Miracle Sleeping Eye Cream from Garnier that really focuses on the elasticity of skin just beneath your eyes (also available across Canada, msrp $24.99,) which is fabulous if you too disregarded the “don’t rub your eyes so hard” rule like I did in the past.

Don’t take my word for it though, try the Garnier Ultra-Lift Miracle Sleeping Cream Night Cream yourself, so you can experience an overnight miracle of your very own! Regardless of why the signs of life found their way onto your skin, this cream will feel like it’s giving you a fresh new start every morning.

  • I love this vlog. Aeryn!! You have been hiding your on camera awesomeness from the world. You MUST do more of these. You look fabulous and you hit all the right notes. I am going shopping for this now.

    • Awwh, Paula!! You've totally just made my day hun! <3 I'll admit to being a bit anxious posting that vlog, lol, its my first in years! ;) And I bet you'll LOVE the Ultra-lift miracle sleeping cream, for all the reasons above, plus I've noticed its definitely helped get rid of that winter-dry skin too we've all been afflicted with this February.

  • sooo....I turned 39 this year and guess what happened? I turned OLD! gah!!!! like overnight old, grey hair, wrinkles, sagging eyelids!!! I would definitely try this product! I need to turn back time because next year is 40 and who knows what else is going to creep up....or down!!!!!

    • You are beautiful hun! <3 But seriously, whomever invented gravity should be shot. ;) It really is like an on/off switch, eh? Good thing we have epic products to turn back time a bit though now. First goes those fine lines, and tomorrow I'm getting rid of that grey hair that's been hanging around for far too long, lol.

  • Girl you are beautiful!!! I don't know if its because I started working outside (the past 3 years) or if its my age, but gah! Wrinkles have appeared EVERYWHERE. I realized I was getting old when I wasn't being ided at the liquor store!

    • <3 you Jenn! I guess it takes one to know one! :p Working in this harsh weather can hurt the skin if we're not careful. :/ Always think of you guys/gals in this type of crazy cold weather (and when its epically hot too!) And LOL, yes, I never know whether I want to be happy or miffed when I'm not asked for ID. Guess it depends on whether I remember to actually bring it with me at any given time, haha.

  • Oh my goodness... Yes! I never listened to that either. I've entered so fingers crossed!

  • Sounds great! I probably squint a lot too... I have glasses which makes it hard to wear sunglasses. So glad you found something that helps your skin out! :) Thanks for sharing.
