Welcome to another edition of #NewComicBookDay on Geek with Style! This would be the "Hungover Edition", 'cause that's how I still feel even today, after Comicon Toronto. It was an absolute blast! Great costumes from a multitude of fandoms, one dude was even dressed as a jar of Nutella, which was definitely a first for me. I cannot wait to share the pics, comics and maybe even some video from that ultimate weekend of fun, but will need a bit of time to sort it all out into one big, sorta comprehensible post. Or really, a name. Stephen King. Apparently this is a second series, or something, seeing as how "Eddie Dean" is a returning character. I'm entirely intrigue about this current story and will have to go research the initial one. Darth Vader #3 I nearly purchased a Star Wars exclusive cover at Toronto Comicon last weekend, but decided to go with a decidedly Canadian inspired Spider-Man cover instead. While I enjoyed the movies (some more then others,) I'm not immersed in the comic lore, but I LOVE this cover. Its pretty. You have no idea how much I'm hoping this is an April Fools joke (since the issue in question is actually released on April 1st.) First the unkillable *Canadian* Wolverine dies, and now Marvel wants to do away with Deadpool. Another unkillable Canadian (Torontonian?) gone. I've heard its because FOX and Marvel are not seeing eye to eye regarding rights and royalties. Guh. Why must the art suffer? Maybe it has to do with the Secret Wars series coming out? *shrugs* This series has been my go-to for when I need a good laugh, without too much violence involved (and if I also needed violence, then Deadpool's Art of War is a great comic for everything.) We made some beautiful splash pages, but the ones in this issue -- or is it the next one -- oh, just you wait. Thanos Vs. It's just as campy as the original series from back in the sixties! Have you ever seen an episode of Comic Book Men? It's a TV/Podcast mix, lead by Kevin Smith and his friends (and main employees) of his comic book shop, The Secret Stash (which is on my bucket-list to visit someday!) I learned on their last episode that Smith helped co-write a four issue series of Batman '66 Meets The Green Hornet, which I just vaguely remember as being an actual thing from the show itself. This is definitely a series that I'm going to have to hunt down, because.
